An air transportation executive who worked in the country’s health insurance industry was recently given the position as chairman of Aer Lingus.
Colm Barrington is the new chief executive of Babcock and Brown and will take up office in September of this year. He is also the director of the Dublin Airport Authority will be resigning before taking his new position.
A year ago, he was able to do a report on the country’s health insurance industry. He stated that the industry was unstable, unpredictable, and poorly governed. He requested the Government to encourage development in the size and the quality of the health insurance industry
The Board thanked Mr. Sharman, who will be succeeded by Barrington in the position he held and for transforming the company into a publicly renowned one.
Mr. Barrington is an experienced yachtsman, and has represented the country in a number of International yacht races.
